When is the best time to go?
July to October is ideal for river crossings in the Northern Serengeti. But the migration moves year-round—we adjust your route to match where the herds are at that time.
Can I fly part of the route?
Yes. We can arrange a scenic bush flight to reduce drive time and add an unforgettable aerial view of the Serengeti.
Is this a private or group safari?
All our safaris are private, meaning your vehicle and guide are exclusively yours.
What should I pack for this trip?
Pack light, neutral-colored clothing (long sleeves for sun and bugs), a warm layer for chilly mornings, comfortable shoes, sunhat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, and personal items. We’ll send you a detailed packing list after booking.
How much driving is involved?
This is an active journey. You’ll cover ground between regions, but with endless wildlife en route, the drive is part of the adventure.

- Day 1: Arusha/Moshi to Ngorongoro Crater to Central Serengeti
Start with a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater—a unique wildlife haven before heading to Central Serengeti to begin your migration journey.
Overnight in a Central Serengeti tented camp or lodge
- Day 2: Full Day in Central Serengeti
Spend the day exploring the Central Serengeti, home to lions, leopards, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with time to relax for bush lunch.

- Day 3: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, head north through the Serengeti plains. Along the way, look out for migrating herds, predators, and scenic views. Arrive in the Northern Serengeti by late afternoon.

This is your chance to witness the Great Migration in action. Spend the day near the Mara River, where wildebeest risk it all to cross crocodile-filled waters. Game drives focus on migration activity and predator action.

Leave the north behind and return to Central Serengeti, game-driving as you go. This is a great day for spotting big cats and enjoying more of the park’s stunning landscapes.
